Seeds of Soltara - Our Story

A story with Ayahuasca at its heart necessarily begins in the Amazon. For Soltara, in more ways than one, our seeds were first planted in the Peruvian Amazon River Basin.

In the native community of San Francisco on the Ucayali River, a group of Shipibo-Konibo women set out to build something they had never had — a shared space to make and sell their work. Soltara helped fund phase 1, in collaboration with Futuro Nativo.

Soltara partnered with the Amazon Rainforest Conservancy on a $10,000 matching campaign to help protect a stretch of forest where jaguars, Andean bears, and tapirs still travel.

In early 2025, severe flooding along the Ucayali River in Peru destroyed homes in Shipibo communities, including the homes of Maestros who lead ceremonies at Soltara. Together with homodea and the wider Soltara community, €32,786 was raised for emergency relief. Here is what happened, and where that support went.

We have partnered with One Million Acres (OMA), a non-profit working to protect Amazonian rainforest through artisan-made goods and public awareness.

At Soltara Healing Center, personal healing supports collective thriving. Every retreat helps us create meaningful positive impact in the local community. For us, this work is about connecting people from all over the world with purpose, and love. When we help each other, we all thrive.

For a long time, psychologists thought that as adults, our personalities were relatively fixed.
